Personalmente ho scelto il Business Plus, e l’ho testato con diversi CMS: tutti gli hosting sono perfetti per hostare i CMS più comuni come wordpress, joomla, phpbb… Accedendo al pannello di controllo vi renderete conto di quello che vi offre: 5000 indirizzi email, 100 database mysql (sempre gratis ) e gestione completa phpmyadmin, webalizer e molto altro; in più due domini ve li danno gratis, e gli altri potete registrarli presso di loro o attraverso qualsiasi register (GoDaddy, etc…) ed hostarli sul vostro server.
Credetemi, ne vale davvero la pena, soprattutto se pensate al prezzo (con circa 60€ vi fate un server virtuale per un anno, in Italia ci comprate 2 domini su Aruba

ciao, ho trovato questo post per caso mentre cercavo un hosting virtuale che costasse poco…
Io ho necessità di installare un sito in joomla con forum in phpbb3 vorrei sapere se il servizio di hosting plus che hai consigliato va bene, considera che in media ho sulle 300 visite giornaliere e max 30 utenti connessi contemporaneamente, credo che per iniziare non ci siano problemi, inoltre vorrei sapere se il trasferimento del dominio presso questa società americana è semplice e se sono previsti prezzi aggiuntivi oltre i 6 dollari mensili! grazie mille per l’aiuto

Oltre ai 6$ mensili io non ho mai pagato niente, né per banda, né per spazio o altro; sia joomla che phpbb3 li ho installati senza problemi (anzi ci dovrebbe essere anche un tool grafico che, da cpanel ti consente di installarlo in automatico, anche se io preferisco sempre farlo a mano
).
Il trasferimento del dominio l’ho provato ed è veloce, ma anche se vuoi tenere il tuo dominio presso il tuo manteiner, ix ti mette a disposizione i dns per farlo puntare direttamente sul tuo server virtuale.

Ciao, in questi giorno ho eseguito delle ricerche sul web e mi sono accorto che molti fanno una differenza tra vps e vps managed, del momento che io non ho assolutamente idea di come si amministra un vps ne tantomeno di come si aggiorna etc, ti chiedo se è semplice amministrarne uno su IX webhosting, considera che fino ad oggi mi sono limitato solamente a caricare file tramite ftp senza settare niente a parte aulche permesso, Grazie di nuovo per i consigli che mi dai!

Quando ho iniziato questo lavoro anche io non avevo idea di come funzionasse un server virtuale, né di come si utilizzasse.
Posso assicurarti però che il pannello di IX è molto completo e mi ha aiutato non poco nella gestione delle principali funzioni (creazione spazio web, db mysql, indirizzi di posta e quant’altro). La gestione del sistema è automatizzata, e tu non dovrai aggiornare nulla.

Ciao Stefano; la velocità di connessione è quasi sempre buona, a parte dei periodi (un’oretta ogni tanto) in cui può essere down, ma l’assistenza in chat mi ha sempre risolto ogni problema.
Il pannello è in italiano, e nei periodi di picco sul mio server transitano circa 3000 visitatori unici al giorno (se mi chiedevi le connessioni simultanee non ho dati da fornirti).

Quelli puoi tenerli sul mantainer che hai ora e puntarli tramite DNS o indirizzo ip

Ti chiedono di confermare la mail, le ultime cifre della carta, e poi ti chiedono conferma sull’importo dell’ordine.
Dopo neanche 5 minuti ti arriva la mail con tutti i dati di accesso al server e al dominio.

Anche io sono cliente di IXWebhosting da oltre 3 anni e l’unico problema l’ho avuto qualche mese fa. Infatti era necessario settare i CHMOD a 777 per le directories degli upload e gli hackers si divertivano alla grande con delle simpatiche inizioni ddos via ftp. Adesso invece hanno risolto aggiornando PHP alla versione 5, quindi grazie al CGI-BIN lascio tutte le cartelle con chmod a 644 ed il mio sito funziona a meraviglia. Una sola cosa mi turba perchè per il resto è perfetto. Ho qualche dubbio sulle connessioni simultanee specie al database. Infatti, stando a quanto dicono, dovrebbero essere limitate a 40 nello stesso momento, il che mi sembra un pò pochino per un sito che raggiunge 4000 visite al giorno. Ho letto in giro che per un euro in più al mese, DreamHost.com offre fino a 250 connessioni simultanee ed onestamente sto pensando di passare a quest’ultimo per ovvie ragioni. Voi cosa ne pensate?
